Circuit City Rebate — FAQ

TIPS FOR REBATE SUCCESS:

Do not throw out the box! Most rebates will require you to send in a UPC barcode or a serial # barcode from the product packaging and will not process your submission without the original barcodes from the box.

Make copies of all your paperwork! This includes your receipt, rebate form, barcodes, and any other items that need to be sent in to receive your rebate. If for some reason your submission gets lost in the mail you will need this information to have your rebate reprocessed. It is also a good idea to have this information in front of you if you need to call the customer care phone number listed on your rebate form.

Check your postmark date! Most rebates require you to postmark your submission within 30 days of your date of purchase. If you miss this deadline you will not be able to receive your rebate.

Make sure your address is legible and correct on your rebate form! The rebate will be sent to the address you provide on the rebate form — if it is difficult to read or incorrect there is a good chance you will not receive your rebate. P.O. Boxes are not acceptable addresses for some rebates so check your rebate form for more information.

Where is the UPC barcode?
If you purchased a computer product such as a computer, monitor, scanner, or printer, you must include a copy of the UPC barcode from the box of each item. The UPC barcode is not one of the barcodes printed on your rebate receipt. The UPC barcode is a barcode found on the box. It is a row of black vertical lines. Beneath the lines there is a single digit number out to the left and a single digit number out to the right. In the middle there is a series of numbers. This barcode is the manufacturer's proof of purchase. (See Image Below)

If I'm asked to send the original “UPC”, what does that mean?
This means you need to send the original product barcode, usually found on the packaging. But some boxes may have several different looking barcodes, and it can get confusing! If you are unsure, ask someone at the store or call the customer service number on your rebate form.

Where is the serial # barcode?

If you purchased a computer product such as a computer, monitor, scanner, or printer, you must include a copy of the serial number barcode from the box of each item. The serial number barcode is not one of the barcodes printed on your rebate receipt. The serial number barcode is a barcode found on the box. It is a row of black vertical lines. (See Image Above)

Where is the serial number?
The serial number is a series of numbers that may be preceded by SN or ESN. It is usually located on the back or bottom of the product. On cellular phones it is located beneath the battery. (See Image Above)
